FEELING FREEDOM OR MOTHER’S DELICIOUS MEALS
‘’I am the biggest idiot ever.Why?Because I spent one dreaded semester at home.No more Thirsty Thursdays,no more late nights…’’ Is that what you think? Or you may think like that ‘’I am enjoying my mother’s free and good meals.I am happy at home.’’ One of the biggest decisions that college freshman need to make is whether or not to live at home while attending college.Some students choose to live at home with their families.On the other hand,others may prefer to live at college.Although they have some similarities,differences are here.
While living at college,you can feel freedom easily.Learning to live on your own is important.While living at college isn’t exactly the real world,it is an intermediary step between being totally dependent on your parents and developing your own financial independence.At college you can go out around 11pm to party and come back around 5 or 6am.Nobody asks you where were you.You decide what to wear or what to eat at college.If you are so sleepless and tired in the morning,you can skip school.It is a preparation for your future life.You will not be with your family at the age of 30.Social life at college is very nice.You can do a lot of activities.You have chance to meet different people.You can learn different things from them.While studying your exams you can cooperate with them.You are independent at college,but you have also some responsibilities.You have to wash your own clothes and iron them.You have to cook yourself and wash the dishes.From this point of view college life can be thought uncomfortable.
Unlike the college life,you can’t feel freedom at home.You can not begin to manage your own financial resources,in contrast you can manage your money at college.You can go out and come back at college whenever you like,by contrast,at home you will be subjected to numerous questions about whereabouts even if you come back before midnight.When you skip school,you have to explain the situation or make up an excuse;but at college you don’t have to do it.Your social life at home may not be as good as college social life.But still you can hang out with your friends after lessons.Both at home and at college you can meet different people and you can learn new things from them.You have some problems at college life like houseworks;however,you have a very comfortable life at home.When you go to home after the school,you can just sit the table and eat your meal.And you don’t have to wash the dishes,unlike college life.Your mother does everything for you.
After all,I can say that it is a very difficult decision.A college freshman should think about differences mentioned above.Although living at college and living at home are considered as the same thing sometimes,there are some differences which may affect your future life.I choose college life,because I am happy to live on my own.On the other hand,some of my friends prefer to live at home because of homesickness.It changes according to what kind of people you are.Which road is less travelled?It is important to find which one is suitable for you.
